Europe Jazz Network (EJN) and 12 Points festival are thrilled to announce Zenith, a new Award for excellence and innovation in emerging artists that will be awarded annually at 12 Points, complementing the existing EJN Awards for “Adventurous Programming” and “Music & Community”.
Improvised Music Company, the Dublin based curators and producers of the award-winning 12 Points Festival, today announce the 12 acts selected to perform at the 2019 edition of 12 Points, which will take place 25-28 September at BIMHUIS Amsterdam. The announcement took place at InJazz in Rotterdam, itself the biggest and annual international jazz network event in the Netherlands.

In what has become a 12 Points tradition, live music will continue into the wee small hours with our Jam Sessions hosted by local rising jazz artists. 12 Points artists and ticket holders get priority entry to this improvisation-friendly jam session hosted by a local jazz act each night, Thursday and Friday across the road in the Eastside Tavern, and Saturday night at the Sugar Club.
On Thursday, newcomers Parallel Society, led by guitarist Jan Henrik Rau, kick off proceedings with their unique blend of contemporary fusion and contemplative improv. Friday nights Jam sees the Sisucunda Collective as house band featuring Danish, Brazilian and Irish musicians, showcasing their genre splicing influences ranging from Argentinian tango to John Zorn. On Saturday, keep your cosy seat in the Sugar Club as 12 Points bring the Jam to you with house band Ro’Shambo!
